Privacy Policy

We take protecting your data seriously

The protection of your privacy during the processing of personal data is an important concern for us. By default, when you visit our website, our web servers store the IP of your Internet service provider, the website from which you visit us, the websites you visit, and the date and duration of your visit. This information is mandatory for the technical transmission of the websites and the secure server operation. A personalised evaluation of this data is not carried out.

If you send us data via contact form, this data will be stored on our servers in the course of data backup. Your data will only be used by us to process your request. Your data will be kept strictly confidential. A transfer to third parties will not take place.

Personal data

Personal data is information about your identity. This includes your name, your address and telephone number, and your e-mail address. You don’t have to divulge personal information in order to be able to use our internet site. But in some cases we need your name and address, and further information so that we can provide you with the services you require.

The same applies when we want to give you information material or supply you with goods you have ordered, or when we need to answer your questions. We will always tell you when this is necessary. Also, we only store or process data that you have provided us with either voluntarily or automatically.

If you use one of our services, we usually only take the data that is necessary to provide you with the service you require. We may ask you for further information, but this is voluntary. Whenever we process personal data, we do it to provide you with the service you required or to fulfil our legitimate commercial interests.

Automatically stored data
server log files

The provider of the pages automatically collects and stores information in so-called server log files, which your browser automatically transmits to us. These are:

  • Date and time of request
  • Name of the requested file
  • Page from which the file was requested
  • Access status (file transferred, file not found, etc.)
  • used web browser and operating system used
  • complete IP address of the requesting computer
  • amount of data transferred

This data will not be merged with other data sources. The processing takes place in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR on the basis of our legitimate interest in improving the stability and functionality of our website.

For reasons of technical security, in particular to prevent attacks on our web server, this data is stored by us for a short time. It is not possible for us to draw conclusions about individual persons based on this data. After seven days at the latest, the data is anonymised by shortening the IP address at the domain level, so that it is no longer possible to establish a connection to the individual user. In anonymised form, the data shall also be processed for statistical purposes; a comparison with other data sets or a transfer to third parties, including extracts, does not take place. Only within the framework of our server statistics, which we publish every two years in our activity report, a representation of the number of page views takes place.

Cookies

When you visit our websites, we may store information on your computer in the form of cookies. Many cookies contain a so-called cookie ID. A cookie ID is a unique identifier of the cookie. It consists of a string through which websites and servers can be assigned to the specific Internet browser in which the cookie was stored. This enables the visited websites and servers to distinguish the individual browser of the data subject from other Internet browsers that contain other cookies. A specific Internet browser can be recognised and identified via the unique cookie ID.

Through the use of session cookies, the controller can provide the users of this website with a user-friendly service that would not be possible without the setting of cookies.

By means of a cookie, the information and offers on our website can be optimised in the interests of the user. As already mentioned, cookies enable us to recognise the users of our website. The purpose of this recognition is to facilitate the use of our website for users. For example, the user of a website that uses cookies does not have to re-enter his access data every time you visit the website, because this is taken over by the website and the cookie stored on the user’s computer system. Another example is the cookie of a shopping cart in the online shop. The online shop remembers the items that a customer has placed in the virtual shopping cart via a cookie. However, only technically necessary cookies are used by us.

Safety

We have put technical and administrative safety measures in place in order to protect your personal data against loss, destruction, manipulation and unauthorised access. All our employees and service providers are bound by the Federal Data Protection regulations.

Whenever we collect and process personal data, this information is coded before it is transferred. This means that your data cannot be misused by unauthorised third parties. Our safety measures are subject to an on-going optimisation process. Our data protection regulations are constantly updated. Please make sure you read the current version.

Rights of persons affected

At any time, you have the right to access, rectify, delete or restrict the processing of your stored data, a right to object to the processing as well as a right to data portability and to lodge a complaint in accordance with the requirements of data protection law.

Right to information

You can request information from us as to whether and to what extent we process your data.

Right to rectification

If we process your data which are incomplete or incorrect, you can at any time request their correction or completion from us.

Right to deletion

You may request the deletion of your data from us if we process it unlawfully or if the processing interferes disproportionately in your legitimate protection interests. Please note that there may be reasons that prevent immediate deletion, e.g. in the case of legally regulated retention obligations.

Regardless of the exercise of your right to erasure, we will delete your data immediately and completely, unless there is a legal or statutory retention obligation in this regard.

Right to restriction of processing

You may request the restriction of the processing of your data from us if:

  • you dispute the accuracy of the data for a period that allows us to verify the accuracy of the data,
  • the processing of the data is unlawful, but you refuse to delete it and instead demand a restriction of the use of the data,
  • we no longer need the data for the intended purpose, but you still need this data to assert or defend legal claims, or
  • you have objected to the processing of the data.
Right to data portability

You may request that we provide you with your data that you have provided to us in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format and that you may transmit this data to another responsible body without any hindrance by us, provided that:

  • we process this data on the basis of a revocable consent you have given or for the performance of a contract between us, and
  • this processing is carried out by automated means.

In case of technical feasibility, you can request a direct transfer of your data from us to another person responsible.

Right to object

If we process your data for legitimate interest, you can, at any time, enter an objection to this data processing; this would also apply to profiling based on these provisions. We will then no longer process your data unless we can prove compelling legitimate reasons for the processing that outweigh your interests, rights and freedoms or the processing serves to assert, exercise or defend legal claims. You can object to the processing of your data for the purpose of direct marketing at any time without giving reasons.

Right of appeal

If you believe that we violate German or European data protection law when processing your data, we ask you to contact us in order to be able to clarify any questions. Of course, you also have the right to contact the supervisory authority responsible for you, the respective State Office for Data Protection Supervision.

If you wish to assert one of the above rights to us, please contact our data protection officer. In case of doubt, we may request additional information to confirm your identity.

Changes to this privacy policy

We reserve the right to alter our privacy policy if this becomes necessary due to new technologies. Please make sure that you always use the current version.

If this policy undergoes major changes, we will make those changes public on our website.
